At Eye Center Northeast, patient care has always been personal. Originally founded by Dr. David Douglass and relocated to its current location in 2008 from the Webber Building at Eastern Maine Medical Center, our practice was built on a simple but meaningful vision: to provide compassionate, relationship-centered eye care to the families of rural Maine.
Today, that same philosophy continues through the next generation with Dr. Chloe Douglass and longtime family friend Dr. Ian Jones, who proudly carry on the tradition of independent, community-focused optometry. As a locally owned private practice, we believe in treating our patients like neighbors because they are.
We understand that exceptional eye care goes beyond prescriptions and routine exams. It means taking the time to listen, educate, and truly understand each patient’s unique needs, lifestyle, and long-term vision goals. Whether it’s helping a child receive their first pair of glasses or supporting a grandparent through changes in eye health, our team is committed to providing thoughtful, thorough, and personalized care every step of the way.
What makes our office unique is the combination of advanced clinical care with the warmth and familiarity of a hometown practice. We are proud to blend modern diagnostic technology and medical excellence with the honesty, kindness, and individualized attention that only an independent practice can offer.

Treat every patient with honesty, kindness, and the same level of care we would give our own family.
Our doctors are board-certified and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in patient care. Over the years, our practice has also supported community-focused initiatives, including participation in programs such as Special Olympics Opening Eyes, reflecting our continued commitment to improving vision care access throughout our community.
